Thelma Gooch was born December 30, 1895 in Columbus, Ohio. In 1918 Thelma Gooch began to sell freelance illustrations to book publishers. During the 1920s Thelma Gooch illustrated numerous books and developed a famous reputation for children's book illustrations.
