Mary Ellen Edwards (9 November 1838 – 22 December 1934), also known as MEE, was a British artist and illustrator. She contributed to many newspapers, periodicals and children's books. 

John C. Staples, english Illustrator and landscape painter. Flourished 1876-1880. Married painter and illustrator Mary Ellen Edwards in 1872. Lived in Hedingham, Essex, and Brighton, Sussex. Illustrator of several works by Frederic Edward Weatherly, including *The Dream Star* (1888), *The Christ-Child* (1888), and *Told in the Twilight * (1883) which he co-illustrated with his wife.
