William Henry Boucher (1837 - 1906). Little is known about his work. I know that he illustrated the following books: THE REBEL COMMODORE by D. Lawson Johnstone, THE PARADISE OF THE NORTH by the same author, VANISHED by David Ker and THE LOST TRADER. All books published by W. & R. CHAMBERS, LIMITED, LONDON AND EDINBURGH, 1895.

Jack seized the mane and trotted off beside the horse.
Keeping a watchful eye the while upon the lion.
"Ach! das is goot. Howyou vas, mein bube?
The boy asked himself what he ought to do next.
Followed by a loud yell.
"Mein craciuos!" cried the old man again.
