Alan Turing, born hundred years ago.
Today, a hundred years ago, Alan Turing was born.
And Google remembers today on their home page
to him.
And Google remembers today on their home page
to him.
Without it the Second World War would have much longer
continued! My picture of Alan Turing was published in the
magazine "Folio" of the Neue Zürcher Zeitung, based on a
black and white photo. (Al Copyrights by me.)

Otto Kubel 1868 - 1951
The painter and illustrator Otto Kubel was a pupil
of the Dresden School of Applied Arts, afterwards
worked as an industrial draftsman in Leipzig,
and applied arts in Munich. Studied at the
Munich Academy under W. von Diez and P. Hoecker. OK.
worked as an illustrator of children's books, fairy tales
and early writings, and school primers.
Since 1905 he has appeared often with paintings
(mostly landscapes and interiors in conjunction
with images of children) out. Kollektivausstell.
Feb. / March 1918 and April / May 1920 in the
admissions. Art exhibition of the Munich art
association in the Old National Museum.
I personally like his fairy-
illustrations for the quality of real "imagery".
The illustrations are well designed
that they should act as a collective images.
And above all they were made for kids!

Der Maler und Illustrator Otto Kubel war
Schüler der Dresdner Kunstgewerbeschule,
arbeitete anschl. als Buchgewerbezeichner
in Leipzig u. Kunstgewerbler in München.
An der Münchener Akademie Studium bei
W. v. Diez und P. Hoecker. OK. betätigte sich
als Illustrator von Kinderbüchern, Märchen
u. Jugendschriften sowie Schulfibeln.
Seit 1905 trat er mehrfach auch mit Gemälden
(meist Landschaften u. Interieur i.V.
mit Kinderdarstellungen) hervor.
Kollektivausstell. Febr./März 1918 und April/Mai 1920
in der Ständ. Kunstausstellung der Münchener
Kunstgenossenschaft im Alten National-Museum.
Mir persönlich gefallen an seinen Märchen-
illustrationen die eigentliche "Bildfindung".
Die Illustrationen sind auch so konzipiert
dass sie als Sammelbilder wirken sollten.
Und vor allem wurden sie für Kinder gemacht!
