 The Door
(Frontispiece)

 Mr. Utterson

Like some damned  Juggernaut

Dr. Lanyon

Mr. Utterson . . . was aware of an odd, light footstep drawing near

The lawyer stood awhile

Dr. Jekill

Clubbed him to the earth

 She had an evil face

They saw it but for a glimpse

It 's a very interesting autograph

Keep clear of this accursed topic

 Mr. Utterson, sir, I'm afraid

He . . . gave a kind of cry, and whipped upstairs

Tossed the light of the candle to and fro about their steps.

Will you suffer me to take this glass in my hand

There stood Henry Jekill

I was once more Edward Hyde

Solely occupied by one thought — the horror of my other self
