Information on Arthur C. Michael is found in: Arthur C Michael: Illustrations for books by H.Rider Haggard

"Here's the turkey ...How are you? Merry Christmas!"

Scrooge sat down before the fire to take his gruel.

The clark...tried to warm himself at the candle...

The clark...went down a slide on Cornhill

 In came a fiddler with a music-book

 I know him! Marley's Ghost!

 Mrs. Cratchit entered....with the pudding

Old Fezziwig stood out to dance with Mrs. Fezziwig.

"Why, what was the matter with him?" asked a
third, taking a vast quantity of snuff out of a very
large snuff-box.  "I thought he'd never die."

Tiny Tim...His active little crutch was heard upon the floor.

All the Cratchit family drew round the hearth

"And therefore I am about to raise your salary!"

The way Topper went after that plump sister...
was an outrage on the credulity of human nature
