Anton van der Valk (1884-1975) was a Netherlandish painter and cartoonist. He was commissioned by Elsevier for the illustration of Sinbad de Zeeman in 1913. The german edition appeared ca. 1935.
Since 1919 he used the pseudonym "Ton van Tast", meaning Anthony fan-tast or visionary. He became famous as a political cartoonist in several magazines. From Augustus 1923 till 1941 he had his own page in the Haagsche Post. His series De daverende dingen dezer dagen was a kind "That Was the Week That Was" comic.
