UNCLE REMUS AND THE LITTLE BOY ILLUSTRATED BY J.M. CONDÉ, 1st Part

 J. M. Condé was an early 20th century "golden age" book illustrator and comic strip artist best known for his ink and watercolor illustrations for books by Joel Chandler Harris and Albert Bigelow Paine. He also worked on at least two comic strips, one of which was derived from Harris's "Br'er Rabbit" stories.

American Indian Fairy Tales, Illustrated by John Rae

 John Rae (1882-1963) was born in Jersey City (NJ). He studied with Howard Pyle at Drexel Institute, and with F. V. Du Mond and Kenyon Cox; he also studied at the Art Students League in New York. Rae was well-known as an author and illustrator of children's books, though he also illustrated adult books for publishers including Harper's, Macmillan, and Dodd Mead. Rae was a member of the Society of Illustrators and other artists' groups. His portrait subjects included Albert Einstein and Carol Sandburg. He was Instructor of Painting and Design at Rollins College, Winter Park Florida, from 1935 to 1940.
