Colorwheel
Some days ago I made a walk and carried my Photograph
with me. Nice clouds stands on the sky. But then crossing two
colors my way. And this colors stoods "complementary" to each other?
And even the beveragebottle and the small umbrella were like sisters!
The water in the bottel was surely once in a cloud in the sky (scientific
seen!) and perhaps is already once dripped on the umbrella?

"Albrecht Altdorfer" 1480-1538
This painting from Altdorfer was for me as a 10 years old boy an icon.
At that time we lived in "Kaltbach" Luzern, a small farmer village, a
rural Paradies. My parents had subscribed a Weekendmagazine and therein
had it these large poster of the classical art. Naturally I did not know at that
time that Altdorfers picture was "classic art". As a boy I was just enthusiastic
of the many figures in its shining armours, what suggested my fantasy enormously.
I hung it to the wall of my bedroom beside the indianpictures which I
have paint with pencilcolors. I can say that this Altdorfer was like an Big Bang
for my way to become an artist. More about Altdorfer here.

"The Fly"
Some of my paintings became published as covers. A Fantasywriter made it
possible. Unfortunately not completely unselfishly: "Good boy, as thanks I
keep your Originals!" And the payment was lausig...
I like the composition and the colors. Maybe I paint it again in a new version with a better figure.

Vrenelis Gärtli
Vrenelis Gärtli
The "Glärnisch" has a cubical eastern drest covered with snow,
called Vrenelis Gärtli. The following legend exists abaout this
mountain: Formerly the crest of the mountain was a garden
with several rich Alps, which belonged to a herdsman who had a
daughter named Vreneli. She married a poor young man, whose
mother visited the newlywed couple occasionally. But, if the
mother-in-law came, she was always treated by the arrogant
daughter disdainfully. In order to show their wealth, the people
Vreneli built stairs of much cheese. And as once again the mother-
in-law was treated badly and returned humiliated to the valley, she wished that the cheese would become stone and for the proud daughter to be humiliated.
That happened and the whole property with eternal snow was covered shortly thereafter.

"The Fearless"
The landscape background is a place in
the swissmountains by Glarus. Like the boy in
the painting I looked up into a damp rock pit.
I saw in my imagination above me an enormous
Mountain-Salamander coming down. Probably I
am the only wanderer in the world that made
photos of this rocks?

Welcome to the first official website of artist and illustrator Pierangelo Boog.
At regular intervals i will show here new works of mine and of course someof my older paintings and drawings.
In 1982 i stopped working as a Fantasy-Artist to generate some income as a
science illustrator after my studies at the School of Art and Design of Zurich.
I have now returned to my "old roots" in the field of phantastic illustration.
(More "about me" later on this place...).
My style, influenced by
N.C. Wyeth, Franklin Booth, Roy G. Krenkel, J. Allen St.John, Hal Foster
and Frank Frazetta, makes me an "Oldschool-Illustrator".
Collectors of original art and editors are welcome to contact me at my
e-mail address: pierangelo@sunrise.ch
Thank you for visiting my digital gallery. Hope you enjoy it.
